Bugz is a shy Indigenous teen on the rez who befriends a Chinese boy, Feng, who lives with his doctor aunt on the reserve. Together, they share an online life in a massive multiplayer video game universe. Together, they face familial challenges and community trauma, as Bugz tries to reconcile the parallel aspects of her life: the traditional and the mainstream, the east and the west, the real and the virtual.

Wab Kinew is the bestselling, award-winning author of the picture book Go Show the World and the memoir The Reason You Walk. A member of the Midewin and an Honorary Witness for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, Kinew lives in Winnipeg with his family.

Host Tasha Spillett-Sumner is a Cree and Trinidadian award-winning poet and New York Times best-selling author who is also working on her doctoral degree in Indigenous land–based education. She makes her home in Treaty 1 territory, Manitoba, where she raises her daughter, Isabella, with her husband.
