Guy Gauthier

Manitobain d’origine, Guy Gauthier a exploré plusieurs genres littéraires. Entre 1969 et 1975, il fait jouer plus de vingt pièces de théâtre à New York. Il a publié un recueil de poésie, North of the Temperate Zone (Midnight Sun Press, New York, 1977). À partir de 1976, il se consacre au journal intime. Jusqu’ici, il a fait paraître Water & Earth: A Journal (1971-76) (Impassio Press, Seattle, 2002), Journal 5.1 (Éditions du Blé, 2003) et Rêves d’un oiseau de nuit (Éditions Baudelaire, Lyon, 2015). En 2015, il a publié un recueil de pièces de théâtre intitulé Les Projecteurs et autres pièces (Éditions du Blé).

Guy Gauthier was born, raised, and educated in Winnipeg, and after writing poetry and plays in the 60s, he traveled to New York on a Canada Council grant and decided to stay. Over his writing career, he has worked in a broad range of genres. He has published a collection of poetry, and has had more than twenty plays performed Off-Off Broadway. Recently, he published his early French-language plays. He is committed to the journal form, publishing in English with Water & Earth: A Journal, and in French with Rêves d’un oiseau de nuit and Journal 5.1.
