Born and educated in South Africa, Kagiso Lesego Molope has published several prize-winning novels. Her young adult novel This Book Betrays My Brother was first published in South Africa, where it received rave reviews (“fascinating work of fiction,” “skilful portrayal of an intricate web of cultural traditions and taboos,” Independent Education) and awarded the Percy Fitzpatrick Prize by the English Academy of Southern Africa. Molope is also the author of the novel Such a Lonely, Lovely Road, the story of two gay men in South Africa. Both books were recently published in Canada by Mawenzi Press. She lives in Ottawa.
