Colleen Nelson

Colleen Nelson is a teacher and author from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her novels include The Umbrella House, Undercover Book List, which was a MYRCA nominee last year and won the Ontario Library Association’s Silver Birch Award. She is also the author of numerous middle grade and young adult novels, including The Harvey Stories, a series which has garnered many nominations across Canada and the US. The third book, Harvey Takes the Lead, is nominated for this year’s MYRCA Sundog Award. She has co-authored two non-fiction titles: If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It: How 25 Inspiring individuals found their dream job and See It, Dream It, Do It: How 25 people just like you found their dream jobs. Colleen writes daily in between appearances at hockey rinks and baseball diamonds in support of her two sports-loving sons. The family’s West Highland Terrier Rosie adds an extra-lovable dose of liveliness, squirrel-chasing, and shoe-chewing to their lives.
