Colleen Nelson is an award-winning YA author. Her first YA novel, Tori by Design, about an aspiring fashion designer who moves to New York with her family, won the McNally Robinson Book of the Young People in 2012. Her novel The Fall, about how boys deal with grief and tragedy, won the same award two years later. Her latest YA novel, Blood Brothers (Dundurn), tells the story of two good friends who face difficult decisions when their lives take different paths. She has lived in Japan and New York City, but now makes her home in Winnipeg where she works as a teacher-librarian in an elementary school.
