Stephen Thomas writes fiction, nonfiction, and plays, and his work has appeared in numerous publications, including Hazlitt, The Atlantic’s CityLab blog, Little Brother, The Seneca Review, and The Puritan. He has been awarded a Truman Capote Scholarship and an Edward F. Albee Fellowship. His collection of micro-fiction, The Jokes (Book Thug), riffs on the form of the joke, with the sharp edge and sometimes surreal quality of the best culture-critical comedians of our time: Andy Kaufman, Stephen Wright, Jon Stewart, and Richard Pryor. It was shortlisted for the Metatron Prize for Rising Authors of Contemporary Literature. Thomas lives in Toronto.
