Winnipeg’s longest running poetry open mic moves online with featured reader Tamar Rubin!

Welcome to Speaking Crow the Virtual Edition! Just as before, we will be meeting the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm Central Time, this time via ZOOM.
We have two registration options:
1)Register to be part of an enthusiastic Speaking Crow audience, and receive a ZOOM link to attend.
2)Register to be one of the open mic readers, and receive a ZOOM link to attend. Limit 25, first-come-first-served.
Registration for both options will remain open until 7:15pm CST.
Speaking Crow is funded and facilitated by the Winnipeg International Writers Festival (WIWF) which is committed to creating safe and respectful opportunities for writers, volunteers, audience members, and workers to share knowledge, explore ideas, and build community.
Featured Guest:
Tamar Rubin is a Winnipeg physician, writer and mother. She has published her work in both literary and medical journals, including Vallum, Prairie Fire, CV2, The New Quarterly, Journal of the American Medical Association, The Hippocrates Medical Poetry Anthology and others. Her unpublished chapbook, “Tablet Fragments,” was shortlisted in Vallum’s 2017 chapbook contest, and her poems were long listed in Room’s 2017 Poetry Contest and CV2’s 2018 Young Buck Contest. Her first book of poetry, Tablet Fragments, was published by Signature Editions in 2020. Raised in Ontario, Tamar currently lives with her husband and children in Winnipeg, the original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and the homeland of the Metis nation.
