Chad Lucas is the author of middle grade novels Thanks A Lot, Universe (winner of the Ann Connor Brimer Award for Atlantic Canadian Children’s Literature and named a 2021 Best Book by the School Library Journal, Canadian Children’s Book Centre, and the New York Public Library), Let The Monster Out (a 2023 Forest of Reading Red Maple Award Nominee and 2024 Manitoba Young Reader’s Choice Award Northern Lights Nominee) and You Owe Me One, Universe (a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection). A proud descendant of the historic African Nova Scotian community of Lucasville, he lives with his family in Nova Scotia.
