Sally Ito

Born in Taber, Alberta, Sally Ito is a writer, editor, and translator now living in Winnipeg. Currently, she is an instructor of Creative Writing and a blog contributor to the children’s multicultural literature blog PaperTigers. Her publications include the poetry collection Alert to Glory. She received a Mombusho scholarship to study at Waseda University, where she worked on literary translations of modern and contemporary Japanese poetry. Her new book, Are You an Echo?: The Lost Poetry of Misuzu Kaneko (Chin Music), is a collaborative picture book bringing to life the work of a revered early twentieth-century Japanese children’s poet.
