Patti Grayson

Patti Grayson is the author of four works of fiction: Core Samples (a short story collection), Ghost Most Foul (a novel for younger readers), Autumn, One Spring (a novel which was also translated and published in Germany as Hochzeit mit Elch), and her most recent, The Twistical Nature of Spoons (Turnstone Press). She has been nominated for numerous Manitoba Book Awards, including the McNally Robinson Book for Young People Award (Older Category), the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer, and the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction. Her works have also been shortlisted for MYRCA and Manitoba Reads.

Over the years—when not tucked away in her dormer office at an obsolete keyboard—Patti could be found on film and television sets working as an actor. She has also done stints as an advertising copywriter, toured the province as a puppeteer, stayed home as a mom, and found great joy in promoting books and reading while employed as a school librarian. Born and raised in Northwestern Ontario, she has spent half her life residing on the outskirts of Winnipeg in St. Andrews, Manitoba.
