KC Adams is a Cree/Ojibway/British Winnipeg-based artist. She has had numerous solo exhibitions and group exhibitions, including the PHOTOQUAI: Biennale des images du monde in Paris, and she has participated in residencies in Canada, the United States, and Australia. Her work can be found in permanent collections nationally and internationally, including the National Art Gallery in Ottawa. She is an instructor in Visual and Aboriginal Art at Brandon University. Tired of reading negative remarks directed at Indigenous people of Winnipeg, she created a photo series appearing on billboards, in storefronts, in bus shelters, and Winnipeg’s buildings. The images now appear in the book Perception: A Photo Series (HighWater).
