Jonathan Ball

Jonathan Ball is the author of the poetry collections Ex Machina, Clockfire, and The Politics of Knives, which won the 2013 Aqua Books Lansdowne Prize for Poetry. His other books include John Paizs’s Crime Wave, a study of the Winnipeg filmmaker’s 1985 cult film, and Why Poetry Sucks: An Anthology of Humorous Experimental Canadian Poetry, co-edited with Ryan FitzGerald. Always an adventurous thinker and stylist, Ball has two books forthcoming: The National Gallery and The Lightning of Possible Storms. He holds a PhD in English, and teaches creative writing at universities in Winnipeg where he lives.
