Jess Walter

Jess Walter’s work has been translated into more than 20 languages, and his essays, short fiction, criticism and journalism have been widely published in Harper’s, Esquire, McSweeney’s, and many other periodicals. His novel Citizen Vince won the Edgar Allan Poe Award, and iThe Zero, a novel set in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, was a finalist for the 2006 National Book Award. He has also been a finalist for the PEN USA Literary Prize in both fiction and nonfiction. The Boston Globe calls his new novel, Beautiful Ruins (HarperCollins), “an elegant meditation on fame, desire, duty, and fate.” Walter lives in Spokane, Washington.
