Deborah L. Delaronde

Deborah L. Delaronde-Falk lives on a cattle ranch near Winnipegosis, Manitoba. She honours her Métis heritage by writing and publishing under her maiden name. Almost all of her stories are historical in setting and focus around Metis protagonists, settings and story situation which she hoes will convey the way of life of the Metis people in early Canadian history. In 2015 Deborah won the first Beatrice Mosionier Aboriginal Writer of the Year Award. She is now retired as a children’s librarian at Duck Bay School in the community of Duck Bay, Manitoba where she worked for 26 years.
