Candace Savage is the author of more than two dozen books including A Geography of Blood (Greystone), which won the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction. She was raised in a succession of small towns, mostly in Alberta, and educated there and at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Candace is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and in 1994 was inducted into the Honor Roll of the Rachel Carson Institute, Chatham College, in Pittsburgh. Her writing for young people has been honored by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre and the New York Public Library, among others. Candace lives in Saskatchewan.
