Andrew Nikiforuk

For more than two decades, Andrew Nikiforuk has written about energy, economics and the West. His Saboteurs: Wiebo Ludwig’s War Against Big Oil, won the Governor General’s Award for Non-Fiction, and The Tar Sands: Dirty Oil and the Future of the Continent was a national bestseller and won the 2009 Rachel Carson Environment Book Award. His latest book, Slick Water: Fracking and One Insider’s Stand Against the World’s Most Powerful Industry (Greystone), is the unsettling and inspiring story of one womans determination to hold government and industry legally accountable for the damage fracking leaves in its wake. Nikiforuk lives with his family in Calgary.
