Melanie J. Murray

Melanie J. Murray is a Métis feminist who is highly involved in community support and public health, including coordinating programs for people living with HIV, youth living in care, and those seeking midwifery care. She has interviewed Métis veterans and elders, and published biographical articles about them. She has written, directed, and performed in numerous theatre productions, and one of her plays, “A Very Polite Genocide or the Girl who Fell to Earth,” appears in Indian Act (Playwrights Canada), a recent anthology of work by Indigenous playwrights in this country. Murray is working currently on a fiction project. She lives in Winnipeg.
