Debra Komar has worked as a forensic anthropologist for over twenty years. She has investigated human-rights violations for the United Nations, testified as an expert witness in The Hague and across North America, and written an authoritative forensic anthropology text. She has published several historical true crime books. In her latest, Black River Road (Goose Lane), a group of teenagers discover two badly decomposed bodies outside of the bustling port city of Saint John in 1869. From the twists and turns of a coroner’s inquest, an unlikely suspect emerges: John Munroe, family man and pillar of the community. Debra Komar lives in Collingwood, Ontario.
