Pamela Mordecai

Pamela Mordecai has published five collections of poetry and an anthology of short fiction. She has also written many textbooks and edited or co-edited groundbreaking anthologies of Caribbean writing, and her poetry for children is widely anthologized. Her novel Red Jacket (Dundurn) is a haunting story of difference and identity, about a red-headed girl growing up on the Caribbean island of St. Chris. de book of Mary (Mawenzi) is an epic poem in Jamaican Creole based on the Biblical story of Mary, Joseph and Jesus. Born in Jamaica, Mordecai now makes her home in Kitchener, Ontario.
