Lori Cayer

Lori Cayer is the author of the poetry collections Stealing Mercury and Attenuations of Force. The winner of the John Hirsch Award and the Eileen McTavish Sykes Award, she is a former co-editor for Contemporary Verse 2. co-founder of the Lansdowne Prize for Poetry/Prix Lansdowne de poésie, and just ended a term as secretary on the League of Poet’s National Council. Her latest poetry collection, Mrs Romanov (The Porcupine’s Quill), presents an intimate and historically-rooted portrait of Alexandra Feodorovna, the last tsarina of Imperial Russia, from devotion to her husband to constant anxiety over her young, haemophiliac son. Cayer lives in Winnipeg.
