Jordan Abel

Jordan Abel is a Nisga’a writer currently completing his PhD at Simon Fraser University, where he focuses on digital humanities and Indigenous poetics. His writing explores the representation of Indigenous peoples in anthropology and popular culture, often using found material as its source. His first poetry collection, The Place of Scraps, was a finalist for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award and won the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize. His latest book Injun (Talonbooks) has just received the Griffin Poetry Prize. He lives in Vancouver, but is currently the writer-in-residence at the Centre for Creative Writing and Oral Culture at the University of Manitoba.
