Jennifer Ilse Black

Jennifer Ilse Black studied English, Film, and Theatre at the University of Manitoba for ten years, spending the majority of her time there as a student activist, working in feminist, queer, and anti-racist collectives, and serving terms on the student union council and executive. Her first novel, Small Predators (ARP), combines prose, lists, and structural experimentation to tell of a collective of student activists as they cope with the aftermath of a violent political demonstration carried out against their university by a member of their collective. Jennifer Ilse Black is a third-generation Hungarian settler living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Treaty 1 Territory.
