Born in Durban, South Africa, David Albertyn immigrated to Canada with his family when he was ten years old. Since 2005, he has been a competitive tennis player and coach. His debut novel, Undercard (House of Anansi), is a story of masculinity, friendship, and championship sports set in a 24-hour- period in Las Vegas, Nevada. Called “Fast-paced, fearless, and psychologically astute…at once a terrific thriller and a sharp commentary on our turbulent times” (David Bezmozgis), it is being published in Canada, France, and Germany, and has been optioned for film/television.
A graduate of Queen’s University and the Humber School for Writers, David Albertyn lives in Toronto.
