Anne Fleming

Anne Fleming grew up in Southern Ontario idolizing the directors at her YWCA summer camp, two self-sufficient lesbians who raised goats and chickens and built their own kayaks. She has published three books of fiction for adults, Pool-Hopping and Other Stories, shortlisted for the Governor General’s Award, Gay Dwarves of America, and the novel Anomaly, as well as a poetry collection, poemw. The Goat (Groundwood), her first book for young readers, is a tender story of a young girl’s encounter with friendship, healing, and a renegade goat in Manhattan one summer. Anne Fleming lives in Kelowna and teaches creative writing at University of British Columbia, Okanagan.
