Armin Wiebe

Armin Wiebe is an award-winning novelist, playwright, and story writer. He is the author of the celebrated trilogy Gutenthal trilogy, about a fictional Manitoban Mennonite town, and his novel Tatsea, set in the Canadian subarctic of the 1760s, won the McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award and the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction. His play The Moonlight Sonata of Beethoven Blatz was produced by Theatre Projects Manitoba in 2011. His new book, Grandmother, Laughing (Turnstone), is a novel about unconventional families and the search for fulfillment. A retired teacher of creative writing, he has served on the board of numerous arts and writers oganizations. He lives in Winnipeg.
