Emmanuel Iduma

In A Stranger’s Pose (Cassava Republic Press), Emmanuel Iduma reinvents the notion of African travel writing, and takes us on a journey across over 20 African cities. His evocative prose is interspersed with over 40 striking black and white photographs by acclaimed African photographers. Known for his essays on art and photography, Iduma turns his perceptive eye on to photographs, as well as the stories he hears on his travels, and delves into questions about love, life, migration, translation, heartbreak and personal tragedy. Born and raised in Nigeria, Iduma is also the author of the novel, The Sound of Things to Come, and he teaches at the School of Visual Arts, New York.
