Will Ferguson is the author of more than a dozen books ranging from travel guides to literary fiction. He is a three-time winner of the Leacock Medal for Humor, and won the Scotiabank Giller Prize for his novel 419. His latest book, Road Trip Rwanda, is the funny, poignant, heartbreaking, and ultimately hopeful story of Rwanda twenty years after the genocide that left it in ruins. In it, Ferguson recounts his exploration of Africa’s “Land of a Thousand Hills” with his friend Jean-Claude Munyezamu, who escaped Rwanda just months before the killings began. Born in Fort Vermilion, Alberta, Ferguson lives in Calgary with his wife and their two sons.
