One of the world’s leading experts on bees and pollination, Dr. Mark L. Winston is the recipient of the 2015 Governor General’s Literary Award for Nonfiction for his book Bee Time: Lessons From the Hive. He directed Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue for a dozen years, achieving international recognition for creating leadership development opportunities for students and social change in communities. A frequent collaborator, he has now co-written Listening to Bees (Nightwood) with Renee Sarojini Saklikar, bringing into focus the complementary lenses of science and poetry. He is currently Professor and Senior Fellow in Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue, and a Professor of Biological Sciences. He lives in Vancouver.
