Lesley Fairfield

Lesley Fairfield, a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, began her career in children’s illustration, working with publishers, children’s entertainers, and non-profit organizations. Her personal thirty-year struggle with anorexia and bulimia has informed her work concerning body image, which has appeared in Dance in Canada magazine and York University’s International Women’s Studies Journal, as well as in an exhibition at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto. Her debut graphic novel, Tyranny (Tundra), is a riveting and ultimately triumphant story about a young woman with a severe eating disorder. Fairfield lives in Toronto.
