Hugo Meunier

Hugo Meunier is director of digital content for Québecor and has been a journalist at La Presse for more than ten years. He is the author of several books of investigative non-fiction published in French. In 2012, he went undercover as a Walmart employee for three months in St. Leonard, Quebec, just north of Montreal, an experience he calls “some- where between the army and Walt Disney.” The results of this “infiltration journalism” has just been published in English translation by Mary Foster as Walmart: Diary of an Associate (Fernwood). Seattle Review of Books says “His meta-transformation— from wise-cracking journalist to outraged Walmart staffer—is remarkable.” Meunier lives in Montreal.
