Arleen Paré

Arleen Paré is a poet and fiction writer. Lake of Two Mountains, her third book, won the 2014 Governor General’s Award for Poetry and the CBC Bookie Award, and was nominated for the Butler Book Prize. Her latest book is The Girls with Stone Faces (Brick), a long poem about the shared lives of Florence Wyle and Frances Loring, two of Canada’s greatest artists, whose sculptures are held in the National Gallery of Canada collections. Originally from Montreal, Arleen Paré worked for over two decades in Vancouver in Social Service bureaucracies. She now resides in Victoria.
