William Deverell

William Deverell has worked as a journalist and lawyer, and is a founder of the B.C. Civil Liberties Association. He is the creator of CBC’s long-running television series, Street Legal, which has aired in more than 50 countries. Winner of both the Arthur Ellis prize and the Dashiell Hammett Award, Deverell is the author of the Arthur Beauchamp novels. The latest in the series, Sing a Worried Song (ECW Press), finds Arthur in placid retirement—or he would be if he wasn’t worried about a murderer he helped convict decades earlier, now released from prison. Deverell lives on Pender Island, B.C.
