Cordelia Strube is a playwright and novelist. She was shortlisted for the W.H. Smith/Books in Canada First Novel Award for Alex and Zee, and her novel, Teaching Pigs to Sing, was nominated for the Governor General’s Award. Her novel Lemon was shortlisted for the Trillium Book Award, and longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. She lives in Toronto where she teaches at Ryerson University. Her latest novel, On the Shores of Darkness, There Is Light (ECW), tells the funny and heartbreaking story of two siblings trying to survive their mixed-up family: Harriet, an 11-year old mixed-media artist, and her younger brother Irwin, who suffers from hydrocephalus.
