Lindsay Mattick

Lindsay Mattick is the great-granddaughter of Harry Colebourn, the WWI soldier who adopted the bear cub who was the inspiration for Winnie the Pooh. With Brooklyn-based illustrator Sophie Blackall, she wrote the award-winning picture book Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear. The book received international recognition, including Publishers Weekly’s Best Books of 2015, New York Times’ Notable Children’s Books of 2015, and CBC’s Best Books of 2015. It won the Caldecott Medal in 2016. With Josh Greenhut, the two teamed up to publish Winnie’s Great War (Harper Collins), a chapter book for middle readers. Lindsay Mattick is the vice-president of an award-winning public relations firm, and lives in Toronto.
