School’s Out, But THIN AIR’s In Session!

Bookings have already been rolling in for our School Program, which features a line-up of exciting storytellers from across the country. Whether they’re local favourites like David A. Robertson and Colleen Nelson, or national icons like Allan Stratton, we at the festival are excited to connect them to teachers and students in two optional streams:

Our Writers to the Schools stream facilitates visits to classrooms and libraries where welcoming students may be impacted by intimate readings, presentations and discussions. This stream is especially geared towards early and senior years students.

Our School Stage stream broadens this approach in a theatre-style setting, where middle-years students get to take in a show featuring an award-winning, and especially entertaining writer.

For many kids, the School Program will be their first introduction to a real-life writer, and the potential impact on reading and creativity can be dramatic. They’ll have the chance to gain insight on the craft, ask questions on the writing life, and even have books signed!
