Trevor Herriot

Trevor Herriot is a prairie naturalist, activist, and writer living Regina. His acclaimed books about prairie ecosystems have been recognized with nominations for the Governor General’s Award (twice), the Writers Trust Award for Non-Fiction (twice), and the William Saroyan International Prize for Writing. His recent book, Towards a Prairie Atonement (University of Regina Press) links ecology with cultural history, connecting today’s ecological disarray to the legacy of Métis dispossession and the loss of their community lands. This fall sees the release of Islands of Grass (Coteau), a passionate love letter to a landscape under seige, with photographer Branimir Gjetvaj.
