Richard Ford

Richard Ford is one of the most respected contemporary fiction writers in North America. His short story collections include Rock Springs and A Multitude of Sins—and he has also edited several short fiction anthologies. He established his reputation with the Frank Bascombe novels, The Sportswriter, Independence Day, and The Lay of the Land. Independence Day was the first novel to win both the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award. His new novel, Canada (HarperCollins), follows a young teen as he travels from Montana to Saskatchewan after his unassuming parents are imprisoned for bank robbery. Ford lives in Boothbay, Maine.
