Kyo Maclear

Kyo Maclear is an essayist, novelist and children’s author. Born in London, England, she moved to Toronto at the age of four with her British father and Japanese mother. She is a doctoral candidate at York University where she holds a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. Her short fiction, essays and art criticism have been published in numerous publications and anthologies. Among her many picture books are two new ones from Tundra: Yak & Dove tells the story of an unlikely friendship, and The Fog is an environmental fable. Her new memoir, Art, Birds, Life: A Year of Observation (Doubleday Canada), is a meditation on nature and creativity. She lives in Toronto.
