Cliff Cardinal
Cliff Cardinal is an award-winning Indigenous playwright and actor, and a graduate of the playwriting program at the National Theatre School in Ottawa. Cliff’s first play, Stitch, debuted in SummerWorks 2011, winning both the Spotlight Award for Performance and Theatre Passe Muraille’s Emerging Artist Award. A year later, Huff (Playwrights Canada Press) won the Buddies in Bad Times Vanguard Award for Risk and Innovation and the RBC Tarragon Emerging Playwright Award. When Native Earth Performing Arts re-mounted Huff in 2015, Cardinal was recognized with two Dora Mavor Moore Awards. Winnipeg audiences saw Cardinal’s stunning talent when he performed Huff in Winnipeg in 2017. He lives in Toronto.
