Brian Brett

Brian Brett is the author of Trauma Farm, which won the Writers’ Trust of Canada Nonfiction Prize. He has written numerous books of poetry and fiction, and his journalism and criticism has been published in almost every major newspaper in Canada. His latest book, Tuco: The Parrot, the Others, and A Scattershot World (Greystone), is both a raucous, profound, and moving biography of a remarkable bird, and an incisive exploration of our notions of language and intelligence and how we relate to those who are different from us. Brett lives with his family on their farm on Salt Spring Island, BC.
