Concrete: From Ancient Origins to Problematic Future is Mary Soderstrom‘s 17th book. It is the direct descendant, so to speak, of her earlier books on roads and urbanism, which include Road through Time: The Story of Humanity on the Move (University of Regina Press, 2017) as well as The Walkable City: From Haussmann’s Boulevards to Jane Jacobs’ Streets (Véhicule Press, 2008) Last year the University of Regina Press also published her Frenemy Nations: Love and Hate between Neighbo(u)ring States while Cormorant Press published her novel River Music in 2015.
