Karen Houle is a professor of Philosophy at the University of Guelph, specializing in environmental thought, critical theory, plant ontology and post-humanist ethics. She was raised in Northern Ontario and (hence) feels most at home when she’s not inside. Recently, she has been spearheading an urban organic farming project in Guelph with newcomer women. The Grand River Watershed is her third collection of poetry.
