John Elizabeth Stintzi

John Elizabeth Stintzi is a non-binary novelist and poet who grew up on a cattle farm in northwestern Ontario. They hold an Honours degree in English Literature from the University of Manitoba as well as an MFA in Creative Writing from SUNY Stony Brook. In 2019, Stintzi was awarded the RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers from the Writers’ Trust of Canada as well as The Malahat Review’s Long Poem Prize. They are the author of the novel Vanishing Monuments (Arsenal Pulp Press, 2020), the poetry collection Junebat (Anansi, 2020), as well as two previous chapbooks of poetry. Their writing has appeared in Ploughshares, Kenyon Review, Arc Poetry Magazine, Fiddlehead, Black Warrior Review, The Malahat Review, and many others. They currently live and work in the United States with their wife and dog.
