Sam Wiebe

Sam Wiebe’s first novel, Last of the Independents, won an Arthur Ellis Award and the Kobo Emerging Writer Prize. His second novel, the critically acclaimed Invisible Dead, debuted his Dave Wakeland series of mysteries. The follow-up, Cut You Down (Penguin Random House), is a gritty story about the hunt for a brilliant but troubled university student, involving suburban gangsters, corrupt authorities, and a contract killer with a fondness for blades. The reviews are impressive: “Wiebe convincingly brings Raymond Chandler into the twenty-first century” (Publishers Weekly); “Grippingly twisty entertainment, the story also offers provocative thoughts about the state of the west coast’s soul” (Vancouver Sun). Wiebe lives in Vancouver.
