Rhéal Cenerini est un auteur à multiples facettes qui sonde des thèmes universels par le biais du théâtre, de la poésie et de la prose. De la quête d’identité, en passant par un examen des relations humaines dans toutes leurs formes et des notions du pouvoir et du succès en particulier, son oeuvre s’inspire de sources aussi variées que Brecht, Claudel, Goethe, Auden et Anouilh. Son dernier livre, l’ennemi du peuple (Blé), est sorti en 2018. Plusieurs de ses pièces ont été mises en scène par le Théâtre du Cercle Molière. Il habite présentement une petite ferme à l’extérieur de La Salle (Manitoba).
Rhéal Cenerini is a multifaceted franco-Manitoban writer who explores universal themes through theater, poetry, and prose. From the quest for identity, to an examination of human relations in all their forms and notions of power and success, his work is inspired by sources as varied as Bertolt Brecht, Paul Claudel, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, W.H. Auden, and Jean Anouilh. His latest book, L’ennemi du peuple (Editions de Blé), was published in 2018. Much of his work has been staged by the Théâtre du Cercle Molière. Cenerini is a market gardener, and lives on a small farm near La Salle, MB.
Born in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in 1961, Rhéal Cenerini studied theatre at the Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface where he wrote his first plays. his work has been presented in Winnipeg, in eastern Canada and in France, and three volumes have been published by Les Éditions du blé. Le Cercle Molière, Winnipeg’s francophone theatre, has presented many of his works, including Li R’vinant, which was part of their line-up last spring. With a diploma in agriculture, Cenerini is also motivated by a passion for agriculture. He works at the Canadian Wheat Board in Winnipeg.
