Trish Cooper

Trish Cooper has worked as an actor and a writer in Winnipeg and Toronto. She began writing sketch comedy with the Royal Liechtenstein Theatre Company and wrote comedic plays for Fringe Festivals across Canada. She was a writer/performer for Theatre Projects Manitoba’s inaugural In the Chamber series and was a regular contributor to CBC’s Definitely Not the Opera. She developed Social Studies (Scirocco Drama), her first full-length play, during her time in the Prairie Theatre Exchange Playwrights Unit. The story of a family who has taken in a refugee from Sudan, it won Best Manitoba Play at the 2016 Manitoba Book Awards. Trish Cooper lives in Winnipeg.
