Writers
David A. Robertson is the winner of the Governor General’s Literary Award, the Beatrice Mosionier and High Plains Book Awards Indigenous Writer of the Year, and the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer. His books include When We Were Alone (Governor General’s Award, TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award finalist, and McNally Robinson Best Book for Young People), Strangers (Michael Van Rooy Award for Genre Fiction), Monsters (McNally Robinson Best Book for Young People), the memoir Black Water: Family, Legacy, and Blood Memory, and fantasy novel for young readers, The Barren Grounds. He is also the creator, writer, and host of the CBC podcast Kīwew. David A. Robertson is a member of Norway House Cree Nation. He lives in Winnipeg.
