Danny Ramadan

Danny Ramadan is an award-winning Syrian-Canadian author, public speaker and LGBTQ-refugees activist. His debut novel, The Clothesline Swing, won Independent Publisher Book Award for LGBT Fiction, The Canadian Authors Association’s award for Best Fiction, and was shortlisted for multiple awards including The Lambda. It was long listed for Canada Reads 2018. The novel is translated to French, German and Hebrew.

His children’s book, Salma the Syrian Chef, was published in March 2020 to critical acclaim.

His future projects includes a collection of short stories, and a novel with the working title “The Foghorn Echoes”.

Danny is graduating his MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia in the fall of 2020. His lives in Vancouver with his husband, Matthew Ramadan.
