Bathélemy Bolivar

Originaire d’Haïti, Bathélemy Bolivar est l’auteur de quatre livres de poésie. Enseignant en sciences physiques, il achève présentement son doctorat en sciences et en mathématiques de l’éducation à l’Université du Manitoba. Avec la collaboration d’amis haïtiens et étrangers, il a lancé l’École haïtienne sans frontières dont l’objectif est d’offrir gratuitement une éducation de qualité aux élèves haïtiens. Les profits de son recueil
bilingue, Mots de terre/Voices of the earth, sont versés aux sinistrés du séisme qui a ravagé Haïti en 2010.

Bathélemy Bolivar, a teacher, poet, and essayist, was born in Haiti, and moved to Winnipeg in 2002. He has published four collections of poetry in French, winning the Prix littéraire Rue-Deschambault for his first. With the help of Haitian and non-Haitian friends, Bolivar created l’École haïtienne sans frontières, a free distance education program for Haitian students. The profits of his bilingual long poem, Mots de terre/Voices of the earth, go to victims of the earthquake that devastated Haiti in 2010. Bolivar is a Phd candidate at the University of Manitoba.
