Nicholas Ruddock

Nicholas Ruddock was born in Ottawa and raised in Toronto, where he attended medical school. He then set out for Newfoundland and Labrador, interning in St John’s and serving as District Medical Officer in Belleoram, Fortune Bay. He has published both fiction and poetry. One of his stories, “How Eunice Got Her Baby,” was published in The Journey Prize Anthology and adapted for film by the Canadian Film Centre, with narration by Gordon Pinsent. His new book, How Loveta Got Her Baby (Breakwater) is a hilarious and bittersweet collection of stories about small town Newfoundlanders going about their business. Ruccock lives in Guelph ON.
