Carrie Snyder

Carrie Snyder was born in Hamilton and grew up in Ohio, Nicaragua, and Ayr ON. Her first book, Hair Hat, a set of linked short stories that featured cameo appearances by a man with peculiar hair, was nominated for the Danuta Gleed Award for Short Fiction. Her new novel, The Juliet Stories (Anansi), has already received strong reviews. It probes childhood and the dynamics of family through Juliet, the clear-eyed ten-year-old daughter of American peace activists who have moved to post-revolutionary Nicaragua. Snyder lives in Waterloo ON, and maintains a lively on-line presence with her blog, Obscure Canlit Mama.
